I found this assignment very interesting. I got to know the associations that bring together people who work in post-secondary education. Each has a vision, a mission, and present benefits, which, by going through them, can hook a potential candidate. And to make the association work, you must pay an annual membership fee.
As we are drawn to counseling (I am a Marriage Counselor), our attention has been attracted to NACADA and NASPA. We have added a regional organization, CSP-NYS, because each state may have its specific problems, which differ from other States.
I have also found that students who are not yet working can become a member. Soon, I will be subscribing to one or two associations.
